The Social Network Trap
Social networking is now an issue in many people\’s daily lives. People who use social networks, be it Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, for example, are in essence all using something different. However, the people who use these social networks can be divided into different categories: the first are users who do not use social networks on a daily basis, but only browse for a few minutes when they suddenly remember, or again for a few days. Then there are those who are more active, say classic users, who spend several hours each day on these networks. But there are more extreme cases.
More and more people spend hours a day on various social networks. For example, if you ask a few people how long they spend on average on Instagram, the answer will be that there are many people who spend a lot of time on social networks. Therefore, some people try to limit the amount of time they spend on a particular social network per day by using their cell phones to set a limit on the amount of time they spend on a particular social network and having the device alert them when they exceed the set time. However, even if people set this limit, they may ignore it and continue to use these networks.
However, it is no wonder that people succumb to these social networks. Why? Of course, many social networks want us to spend more time in order to better benefit from them. That is, each user\’s algorithm is adjusted according to what they follow most frequently, showing how much time they spend on different topics, and all of these, virtually all, or rather the majority of them, keep the user in the social network a little longer, so that more frequent appear.
Thus many of us fall into the trap of social networking and often do not know how to get out of it.
