How to get over embarrassment?
Embarrassment happens to everyone, at least once in a lifetime. It\’s an awkward, embarrassing situation. It is never a pleasant situation, it is a very stressful situation, and you feel like you have to bury yourself somewhere, and you want to be buried there. Other people look at you funny, they don\’t even laugh at you, in fact they look really weird. At some point, awkward situations happen to absolutely everyone. It can happen when you are alone or with a certain group of people, or it can happen when you are with a large group of people and you are dented by embarrassment. It is normal and nothing to be concerned about. It is just not very pleasant. Being embarrassed is not a pleasant thing at all.
Embarrassment means different things to different people. Some people feel ashamed of almost every situation in which they do something unusual that others do not do very often. Some people feel embarrassed just by something falling on the ground. It really depends purely on how the person perceives the embarrassment and what they themselves feel embarrassed about. The same goes for whether or not the person looking at the situation feels embarrassed. Some people see the situation as a normal situation and may just be scared and not even need to be scared. Maybe there is nothing to be ashamed of after all. And this is exactly what you need to realize.
Embarrassment is different for everyone, and what you find insanely embarrassing may be perfectly normal for some people, and it is you who should feel embarrassed about it. Therefore, when something embarrassing happens to you, think about how it appears to others and whether it is normal. For example, if you have wet the bed, that is embarrassing because it is not normal. Otherwise, there is no need to worry at all.
